    Nothing really …
Nothing really stops mine cold but the best way I have found to reduce and end it faster is to go outside and take a walk, anywhere, at a brisk pace and randomly call someone on my cell phone and just start talking about anything. Whenever the fear wave, the anguish, the impending doom, or whatever you want to call it comes I just reject it with an attitude. I actually say, “shut the up, this is ridiculous, there’s nothing wrong, stop being retarded” in my mind and it works.

    So, I just had a …
So, I just had a panic attack.. and the way they portrayed this is nothing like I experienced, I was feeling extreme dread and impending doom, and I really didn’t want to be touched… But I suppose this is different things for different people.

    Yes. It’s a shame …
Yes. It’s a shame that all these therapists have a license to keep people coming to them for years but miss the point of real healing which comes when the person learns how to take full emotional responsibility. Many people don’t want to hear that but it’s true.

    thats what CBT is, …
thats what CBT is, anxiety goes in circles and it will eventually fizzle out. if you give them reasurance they settle for a bit but deep in there mind they still believe what ever is worrying them is still improtant and therefore carry on the anxious cycle

    I disagree with a …
I disagree with a lot of this advice. The best thing to do (which has helped me). Is to sit the person down… tell them to breathe deeply in through the nose and out the mouth. Get them a glass of water, or juice. and remind them it’s just a panic attack. it won’t kill them. hang in there with them to show support.

    Actually, if you …
Actually, if you follow this advice, you are helping to keep the anxiety cycle going. The need for comfort and reassurance is sometimes the fuel for the anxiety. The person needs to learn how to soothe themselves - as daunting as that may be.

    What do you expect …
What do you expect from a video that’s under 2 minutes?! I have a family member that’s been dealing with this for 35 year that I know of. This IS good advice, but everyone is different and it’s a very complicated issue, involving chemical and emotional issues. This isn’t a bad place to start if you are on the receiving end of a panic attack. Sometimes you can talk them through it by calmly logically reassuring the person that all is well. It’s their chemicals talking and it will quickly pass.

    I fight the last …
I fight the last comment, i dont think this video meant to be something to help panic attacks themselves… it was more on how to just be there and as someone that suffer from them everyday i applaude this video for one simple reason …. at no point did the person say garbage like just calm down … If youve had a panic attack the words calm down are prolly the worst you can hear…. so take this vid for what it is … I have and i think it was well done.

    this is a gross …
this is a gross distortion of what an anxiety disorder really constitutes… anxiety is the most common mental illness experienced by Americans today, “being there” for someone is the tip of the iceberg. Getting to the root of the anxiety is the challenge. The suggestion that you can overcome an anxiety or panic disorder through basic means is absurd. This is a neurological problem that has yet to be properly addressed.

Good advice. Alot of people don’t “understand” panic attacks, so they don’t know what’s like or how they can help.

Good thing you can learn how to overcome panic attacks.

Do a DNA PCR to check for infections in the cerebro spinal fluid. Even with a negative result, if antibiotics produce a herx, then its confirmation of an infection.
