How to stop panic attacks?
I have been having panic attacks a lot lately. I have seen a doctor and was put on some medication. When I have panic attack I seem to hyperventilate a lot. Is there a way to stop panic attacks but if not how can I stop the hyperventilation?
Maybe you`ll have to change your medication. Many people try few before finding `The good one`. Take an appointment with your doctor to tell him/her how you feel and that you may have to change your medication, because it doesn`t have the wanted effects on you. It is not unusual to change medication
because everybody is different and respond differently to drugs. Note every question you have on a pad before going to your appointment. Good luck and take care.

take some deep breaths through your nose…and if it’s possible, try to get outside into some cool air where you can have a seat.
When they happen to me I feel like I’m going to faint so the best thing for me is to find a seat or go outside..even a bathroom just to be away from people. I take some deep breaths, give myself a pep talk (ie "quit freaking out about nothing and get yourself together!"), and get a drink of water or eat something with some sugar, a piece of candy or even gum…anything that will get my blood sugar back up…but breathing through the nose in slow deep breaths is key…

The best thing I know of is a homeopathic remedy called "Rescue Remedy". You can buy it at a health food store. That will help calm you in the short term.
Then, work on talking to yourself to calm yourself down.
I highly recommend a book called "Telling Yourself the Truth" by William Backus and Marie Chapian.
Hope this helps.
